Shannon Emmanuel, Senior Director of Community Health at the American Heart Association, is visiting DDR on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at 11:00 AM to present information on Life’s Simple 7, seven health factors and lifestyle behaviors that support heart health and impact the quality of your life. Did you know that one in three Americans has some form of cardiovascular disease and stroke is the leading cause of disability in the United States? The AHA works to help people identify and adopt healthier lifestyle choices. This presentation will help you understand what changes you can make to improve your health and the importance of knowing your numbers. This presentation is for anyone interested in learning about heart health and making healthier choices.

The presentation will take place in the Oak Conference room at DDR’s Main Office building located at 6824 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. You can also visit to learn more about Life’s Simple 7. Information on the Greater Charlotte Heart Walk will also be given at this presentation. The walk is a fun way to be physically active and promote your commitment to making healthier choices every day.

DDR invites you to join us for the Greater Charlotte Health Walk & Donate towards our goal!

The walk will take place on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 at First Ward Park in Uptown Charlotte, 301 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. Check-In begins at 7:30 AM and the walk starts at 9:00 AM. This will be a 3.1 mile non-competitive walk. The route is wheelchair accessible. There will be a water station along the walk route.
