How are these programs Funded?
Your county's area mental health program, NC Department of Human Resources,
Medicaid, consumer fees, insurance and third party payment provide funds to
support placements for the individuals served by DDR.
How can I obtain services through DDR?
Every consumer that is served by DDR must first obtain a case coordinator
through his / her local Area Authority Program. The case coordinator will then
assess needs and detemine what services the consumer is eligible for. The
case coordinator will obtain authorization for services and then make the
referral to DDR. It is an individual's choice as to which service agency the services
are recieved through.
What is expected from the care providers of DDR?
- Day-to-day care of the consumer.
- Appropriate supervision of the daily activities of the consumer.
- Implementation of specific goals.
- Participation in the individual's programming planning conferences.
- Regular consultations with DDR staff and the consumer's case coordinator.

items needed for this process such as:
- Copy of homeowner or renter's insurance policy with coverage amounts.
- Inspection of your home by your local fire marshal.
- Sanitation inspection by the local health department.

the Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR).
What type of training will I need?
You are required by the state to receive all needed training before your start working with a consumer.
We provide all of our trainings at our office. After we receive your application, and you are matched
with a consumer, training will begin on areas of need. If you have received training somewhere else,
DDR will review the training to see if it meets our criteria.
We are always looking for caring individuals to provide services for our consumers.
