DDR, Inc. supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Eligibility must be determined prior to service implementation.

Referral Process

DDR provides services to Individuals through various NC Innovations Waiver and B3 Respite services.

NC Innovations Waiver Services

DDR requires a referral be sent from the Managed Care Organization (MCO). This can be accomplished in one of two ways.

1. The individual or family may contact DDR directly and DDR will request a referral from the MCO.

2. The individual or family may ask their MCO Care Coordinator to contact DDR on their behalf.

B3 Respite

The individual or family will need to provide DDR with a current psychological evaluation that documents the individual’s developmental disability. Children are required to have a psychological evaluation current within three years. Adults are required to have a psychological evaluation current within five years.

In order to assure that DDR is best equipped to provide quality services, all individuals requesting DDR services will be contacted by a DDR staff to schedule a screening interview. The interview is typically accomplished over the phone and takes 45 minutes to one hour to complete. Once services are mutually agreed upon, a Qualified Professional will work with the individual and their family to complete the admission process.

DDR currently serves individuals served by the following Managed Care Organizations (MCOs):

If you are unsure which MCO serves your area, please see the map of coverage areas provided by NC DHHS.
