Respite (individual or group) provides periodic support and relief to the primary caregiver(s) from the responsibility and stress of caring for the individual. It may include in and out of home services, overnight service, weekend or emergency care. Respite can be provided in the individual’s home or in an out-of-home setting. Monthly monitoring is required if the services are provided in the direct support provider’s home to ensure safety and appropriateness of the services and cannot be provided by anyone who lives in the individual’s residence.
Additional requirements and rules apply and will be covered during planning and training meetings with DDR Staff.
